From time to time users ask us how they can do a Sankey diagram featuring the typical title blocks with data fields known from architectural drawings or CAD drawings.
These title blocks for technical documentation are described in EN ISO 7200. It defines mandatory fields and the width of the block (180 mm).
Since the target diagram output size in e!Sankey is not defined by choosing a paper size at the beginning, but rather the Sankey diagram can be scaled after it has been drawn to fit onto a specific paper format, it is kind of difficult to maintain a fixed box width of 180mm (independent of the zoom fakctor of the Sankey diagram). Therefore, in this solution we have a fixed paper format, and the diagram must be adapted to fit onto the paper.
We are providing below two types of files that can be used in e!Sankey 4.5. They have the text block according to EN ISO 7200 (in the "compact" form shown in Figure 1 in the standard) with English text fields.
- one file has text box editable, so that users can change/translate the labels
- the other file has the text box ans presized image in the back ground with editable text fields as overlay
When using these .sankey files make sure you keep zoom factor to 100% (default) and don't draw your Sankey diagram beyond the frame line.
For printing ensure you choose the correct paper orientation and remove any preset print margins for printout. The value should be zero (0 mm), otherwise the diagram may overflow to a second page. The printer might issue a warning that a minimum margin will be added.
